Professional Writing Assignments

As a part of the Integrated Marketing Communications program at Northwestern, I completed several assignments that display my refined professional writing ability. Below are just a few highlights of that work.

Press Release

The story behind this press release is that a cookie company needed to announce that they were expanding their business, but at the same time had to lay off 50 employees. While writing this I had to find the balance of excitement over the company expanding, but reverence for the employees that were being laid off.

Executive Summary

This is an excerpt from a larger piece about convincing a brand to offer a Groupon. I chose to highlight the executive summary as this is a very important part of any report or proposal as it serves as the summary of everything that is to come. I feel as though I did good job of summarizing the proposal without giving too much away.

Companywide Email

For this assigment I was tasked with developing an email that would be sent to every employee at Boeing. The subject of the email was about a plane of there’s that was being put back into production following a crash the plane had years prior. The email needed to be inspiring without shying away from the issue, which I think I captured effectively.
